About the Foundation of the Association of Energy Engineers
The Foundation of the Association of Energy Engineers (FAEE) Scholarship Fund is a 501(c)(3) organization established to promote continuing education of qualified professionals in energy engineering and energy management.

FAEE was established in 1981 to encourage qualified practitioners in energy engineering to further education.To date, the Foundation has helped more than 1,200 energy engineering students in the US.

Lifetime Achievement Award

ATLANTA, GA (September, 2013) – The Foundation of the Association of Energy Engineers (FAEE) has awarded the 2013 Lifetime Award to Jim Waltz.  Mr. Waltz, president of Energy Resource Associates, an acknowledged pioneer in the field of energy management.

The award recognizes the voluntary long-term commitment to the Foundation as the Scholarship Chairman for 12 years. Since his election, he has helped raised more than $300,000 including the Siemens Scholarship, facilitating more than 600 students to achieve further education in energy engineering.

“Jim has been very generous with his time and in helping me and countless others during his time as the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee Chair”, said Rusty Hodapp the current FAEE Scholarship Chairman and Vice President for Energy, Transportation & Asset Management and Sustainability Officer at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), during the AEE Annual Awards Banquet.

Mr. Waltz accepted the award during the 2013 World Energy Congress (WEEC) in Washington D.C.

Introducing FAEE Scholarship Chairman

FAEE is delighted to introduce its new Scholarship Chairman – Rusty Hodapp.

Rusty Hodapp

Rusty Hodapp is the Vice President for Energy, Transportation & Asset Management and Sustainability Officer at the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).  Prior to joining DFW, Mr. Hodapp held engineering and management positions with Texas Instruments and Mobil Oil.

Under his leadership, DFW’s energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives have been widely acclaimed, with recognition from the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Alliance to Save Energy, Air Transport World, and the American Association of Airport Executives among others.

A life member of AEE, Mr. Hodapp has served as the Association president, Region IV vice president and is currently on the Business Energy Professional certification board.   In 2011 AEE admitted him to the “International Energy Managers Hall of Fame” and in 2003 named him “International Corporate Energy Manager of the Year.”

Mr. Hodapp earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from Colorado State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington.  He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Texas, holds professional certifications in energy management, energy procurement, carbon reduction management, and is a LEED accredited professional.
