We had the opportunity to talk to Owen Gunning, one of the original members of the Jamaican Society of Energy Engineers. His inspiring story takes us on a journey to the beginning of their chapter, and a quest to be able to train more engineers to become a Certified Energy Manager. While they couldn’t come up with the funds to host training, Al Thumann, Founder of the Association of Energy Engineers, bravely insisted they come to the United States to train, so they could take their knowledge home and expand energy efficiency in the Caribbean. The Jamaican Society of Energy Engineers proudly donates in his honor because he believed in them, and they believe in the future of energy efficiency.
